Kintaro Hattori Special Limited Edition

The First Model to Bear the Founder's Name, a Striking Black Design

Launched last September for active individuals making their mark on the world stage, the "Seiko Astron," the world's first GPS solar watch. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Seiko's watch manufacturing, and to commemorate this milestone, the first model bearing the name of its founder, Kintaro Hattori, has been released.

Always One Step Ahead of the Times

A special limited edition of the world's first GPS solar watch, uniquely compatible with all 39 time zones worldwide currently available on the market.

The ultra-compact GPS module, developed by Epson, a member of the Seiko Group, receives signals from GPS satellites approximately 20,000 kilometers above the Earth. It acquires longitude, latitude, altitude, and time information. While conventional radio-controlled watches take at least 120 seconds to adjust the time, this model receives time information in as little as 6 seconds. Furthermore, it acquires location data in just 30 seconds, confirming the wearer's current position on Earth before displaying the precise current time down to the second.

It also features functions such as daylight saving time adjustment, an airplane mode to disable GPS signal reception during flights, and a perpetual calendar that requires no correction until February 28, 2100. This is the ultimate world time watch, at the cutting edge of technology.

The luxurious specifications befitting a special limited edition are also a major draw: the substantial coloring of the lightweight Bright Titanium case* (※) combining black and gold, the gold "Marukaku S Mark" registered trademark set on the case back, the engraving of the founder's philosophy, name, and serial number in English, and the exquisite crocodile strap, complemented by an interchangeable Bright Titanium bracelet and a special presentation box.

※What is Bright Titanium?
Seiko's proprietary titanium alloy, Bright Titanium, achieves weight reduction with a specific gravity approximately 60% that of stainless steel. It possesses 1.5 times the hardness of regular pure titanium, is resistant to rust, and offers a beautiful finish. Its hypoallergenic properties are also a significant advantage.
