Damascus Pattern Case Material Produced by Germany's BALBACHDAMAST
From Sinn, known for its professional timepieces such as pilot's and diver's watches, comes a new creation with a simple style but a focus on case material, offering a distinct look for each individual piece.
The star of this piece is the Damascus pattern steel, which has captivated humanity for centuries. By combining soft and hard steels, it possesses the properties of both, creating a nuanced expression of light and shadow.
The case material is a layered Damascus steel produced by forge welding, manufactured by Germany's BALBACHDAMAST, a company that has evolved and passed down forging techniques with a 2,000-year history.
Normally, cases and dials are designed as separate parts. However, for the "1800.DAMASZENER," an integrated design was adopted, crafted from a solid steel block, to emphasize the unique texture of the Damascus layered steel and its organic pattern of alternating light and shadow.
As a result, the flowing lines of the Damascus pattern continue seamlessly from the case to the dial, forming a unique and tasteful exterior. Furthermore, Tegiment Technology has been employed to create a scratch-resistant surface finish.
