"9F": Redefining the Standards of Quartz

Since its inception in 1960, "Grand Seiko" has evolved into a leading Japanese timepiece, expanding globally from 2010. A pivotal moment in its long history was the introduction of the "Caliber 9F," a quartz movement exclusively for Grand Seiko, unveiled in 1993.

The "Caliber 9F" features a "twin-pulse control motor" that allows it to drive long, thick hands—previously impossible for quartz movements—and a "backlash auto-adjust mechanism" that significantly reduces hand judder. This movement is characterized by its pursuit of not only high precision but also legibility and aesthetic beauty.

The limited edition models retain the soft case and bracelet design of the 1993 original, while increasing the case size from 37mm to approximately 39.1mm. This enhances the watch's presence and offers a modern update.

As a special feature unique to these anniversary models, the dials are adorned with a pattern of "GS" and "9F" motifs, inspired by the distinctive quartz mark that signified high precision on dials during the 1970s and 1980s, a period of quartz advancement. Furthermore, the hidden inscription "9F25" at the 25-minute position marks these as special editions.

Two variants are available: one in silver and another with a see-through case back accented with gold.
