A Story Drawn in Beautiful Sand
BVLGARI began supporting the activities of the international aid organization Save The Children (STC) in 2008. This year, they produced a sand art movie to aid in the reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake. The film was screened on September 8th at BVLGARI Il Cafe in Omotesando, during the "FASHION'S NIGHT OUT" event hosted by the magazine VOGUE. Created by the sand art performance group SILT, the work tells a story imagining the children of Tohoku, affected by the earthquake, being transformed into smiles through the power of charity.
Supporting Children Worldwide
When the "BVLGARI Save The Children" ring is purchased for 48,300 yen, 9,600 yen is donated to STC. To date, BVLGARI has raised over 12 million euros (approximately 1.2 billion yen; as of June 2012), supporting more than 350,000 children in 20 countries. The donations provide children with opportunities for higher quality education. Under the project's philosophy, "Education imparts the 'will to live' that can change a life," this initiative currently supports the reconstruction efforts in Eastern Japan.
