On September 8th, Eastern Standard Time, a new G-SHOCK product launch event for the global market was held at the Four Seasons Restaurant in New York. The event drew 76 media outlets and industry professionals from around the world, highlighting the brand's current global attention. Unveiled here was the MT-G, a new model in the metal G-SHOCK line, which has been steadily increasing its market share in Europe and the Americas. MT-G First to Feature GPS Hybrid Radio-Controlled Solar

This was the first time Casio has held a new G-SHOCK model presentation outside of Japan to a global audience. Kikuo Ibe, the developer of the first G-SHOCK, attended the event and shared the development stories of the original G-SHOCK and the first metal model, the original MR-G, in English. The audience was deeply impressed by the profound history presented.

Amidst global attention, Shigenori Ito, current Chairman and CEO of Casio America, introduced the new MTG-G1000D. Ito has been involved in G-SHOCK marketing for over 20 years since joining the company, making him a true veteran. Details on the functionality and design were presented through a world premiere video and commentary from the Vice President of North American Watch Business, captivating the attendees with the excellence of the new MT-G.

The G-STEEL, featuring an enhanced shock-resistant structure with its "Layer Guard Structure," was also announced simultaneously. Alongside the MR-G, the pinnacle of G-SHOCK's metal models, these products are sure to further solidify the trust in Japanese brands.

MT-G's Signature Metal x Resin Body Features Fine Resin

Born from the theme of "fusing metal and resin" in 1999, the MT-G series has consistently pursued shock resistance through the combination of different materials and a stylish design focused on aesthetic beauty. The new MTG-G1000D inherits this functional beauty. While maintaining the metallic texture and the lightweight, comfortable feel of resin, it newly incorporates "fine resin" as a cushioning material for parts protecting the module. This structure is designed to withstand impacts from the front. Furthermore, the stainless steel case is finished with Zaratsu polishing for a delicate appeal. Coupled with a high-hardness sapphire crystal for the windshield, it embodies both beauty and toughness.

Equipped with GPS Satellite Radio Wave Reception, a Companion for Global Business Professionals

Casio, with its development concept of "Global Time Sync," successfully developed the world's first hybrid module capable of receiving both GPS satellite radio waves and standard radio waves last year. This technology was first implemented in the G-SHOCK GPW-1000, quickly gaining popularity and proving its reliability. The high functionality that allows for easy time synchronization anywhere in the world was a natural fit for the urban-style MT-G. Further enhancing convenience, a "dual coil motor" with rapid hand movement in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions is used in the sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position, enabling quick and smooth time adjustments when using World Time. Swapping between Home Time and another country's time is as simple as pressing the push button at the 2 o'clock position. Naturally, it also features Tough Solar for reduced battery replacement hassle.

GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor

Mr. Ibe, introduced by the host, took the stage. A legendary figure not only within the company but also in the watch industry, his unpretentious demeanor left a positive impression. He explained the history of G-SHOCK using his own slides.

Exhibition Booth

Booths were set up at the venue, showcasing not only the new MTG-G1000D but also archives including MR-G, G-STEEL, and the original G-SHOCK. It was a valuable experience for attendees who regularly work with 'G' watches.

18K Gold DW-5600

A concept model, the first DW-5600 unit, was recreated with an 18K gold case. Conceived by G-SHOCK developer Mr. Ibe, it was redesigned considering shock resistance with 18K gold.
