A German Brand Inheriting Bauhaus Design
New Releases from the Popular "Max Bill by Junghans" Collection
Junghans, a leading German watchmaker based in Schramberg, in Germany's Black Forest region, enjoys significant popularity in Japan with its two collections: "Meister" and "Max Bill by Junghans," which carries on Bauhaus design. This year, they unveiled new variations expanding these two collections. For men, we highlight the blue and anthracite dial models released in the "Meister" collection, and also introduce the ladies' models from the "Max Bill by Junghans" collection.

Even Chronographs with Day-Date Complications Remain Simple in Design
The design of the "Meister" series, shaped by commercial designer Erwin Ziegler from around 1930, features an extremely simple dial. For example, this model, despite incorporating a day-date function and three subdials for the chronograph, uses no numeral indices other than those on the subdials, giving it a remarkably clean impression.
The crystal is made of traditional Plexiglas, molded into a dome shape. Yet, the design remains timeless and perfectly relevant today. Even when adopting blue, a contemporary popular color, for the dial, it matches exquisitely. The deep hue of this new dial color for 2015 complements suits and is suitable for any occasion. This is a chronograph that can be confidently recommended to anyone.

Chic Anthracite Dial
The fundamental design of the "Meister" series shines not only in the chronograph but also in this practical full calendar (triple calendar + moon phase) model. The dial features only bar indices around the perimeter, creating a remarkably clean design. By intentionally spacing the month and day-of-the-week windows apart and aligning the pointer-type date display and moon phase concentrically at 6 o'clock, space is saved, resulting in a well-balanced design.
Take a closer look at the star on the moon phase at 6 o'clock. You'll find Junghans's emblem subtly integrated. The perfected design is also full of wit. This is a model recommended for men who appreciate fine details.

Ladies' Model from the Popular "Max Bill by Junghans" Series
"Max Bill by Junghans" is inspired by the clocks designed by product designer Max Bill, known as "the last master of Bauhaus," in the 1950s, which are still in production today. The collection has continued since the 1960s. Like the "Meister" series, the dial features only minimal elements. In this wristwatch, Arabic numerals indicating the time are placed inside the bar indices. The slightly smaller font size is exquisite. Combined with the 32.7mm case size, appropriate for a ladies' model, it results in a feminine timepiece.
