Eberhard is a brand that boasts overwhelming popularity among Italian men. In particular, models paying tribute to Tazio Nuvolari, a legendary Italian race car driver who was highly active in the 1930s and '40s, are passionately supported. This time, we introduce a model commemorating the 80th anniversary of Nuvolari's 1935 world land speed record.Alfa RomeoHe set a new world record of 336 km/h at the wheel of an Alfa Romeo, and this model celebrates that 80th anniversary.

A Tribute to the Feats of Tazio Nuvolari, the "Mantovan Comet"

Tazio Nuvolari was a legendary driver active in F1 and numerous other races in the 1930s and '40s, known in Italy as the "Mantovan Comet" after his hometown of Mantua. Introduced as a limited edition model for 2015, this is a spirited timepiece paying tribute to Nuvolari's achievements. The "Tazio Nuvolari 336" is named after the world land speed record of 336 km/h he set in 1935.

The sub-dial at 12 o'clock displays the home time, while the hour hand indicates the local time. Local time can be adjusted using the button at 10 o'clock, allowing the hour hand to be advanced in one-hour increments, offering excellent operability. The power reserve indicator at 6 o'clock resembles a car's fuel gauge. The ceramic bezel, dial, and strap are unified in black, with accents of red, reminiscent of the Alfa Romeo he drove, creating a special edition. This model embodies the passionate spirit of Italian automotive enthusiasts.

The Fusion of Chronograph and Modern Military Style

The chronograph, with its two sub-dials and mushroom-shaped pushers, is a classic design. The "Kontograf" also draws inspiration from 1950s-60s chronographs, and its vintage feel and motorsport-inspired design have made it a popular model. However, this "Special Edition" adopts a design that significantly alters the image of the Kontograf.

Watch dial color schemes were very conservative until the mid-20th century. Adorning a dial with a complex camouflage pattern is truly a modern concept. Yet, when realized, it blends perfectly with the classic twin-counter chronograph, creating a surprisingly harmonious look. The classical design and camouflage pattern merge seamlessly, as if such a military chronograph had always existed. For those who appreciate the exquisite balance of retro and contemporary, this model is a must-see.

A Long-Selling Model Gets a New Dial

The "Extra Fort" is Eberhard's longest-selling current model. In 2015, the "Extra Fort" has been renewed. New decorative finishes have been applied to the silver, black, and gray dial variations. These new dials feature a subtle, fine vertical stripe pattern throughout.

On the gray dial shown here, this feature is particularly prominent. This embellishment creates a sense of depth near the center of the dial, allowing the dial to be appreciated like a sculpture through delicate plays of light and shadow.

Further details showcasing artisanal craftsmanship can be found in the concentric fine lines on the indices. These design elements create contrast on the dial while making the applied indices stand out, enhancing legibility. Eberhard's oldest and most iconic model has once again evolved.
