ANGELUS | The Revival
A Legendary Watchmaker, Founded in 1891

Resurrected with Avant-Garde Tourbillons

Founded in 1891, Angelus was a prestigious manufacturer that produced a diverse range of timepieces, from elegant three-hand models to chronographs. At one point, it was even a supplier of movements to other brands, notably known for providing movements to Panerai from the 1940s onwards. After ceasing operations in the late 1970s due to the impact of the quartz crisis, the brand finally made its comeback in 2015. Its first reborn model was unveiled at Baselworld.

Inspired by 1970s Industrial Design

The most striking aspect is its large, horizontal rectangular form, measuring an impressive 62.75mm in width. Approximately one-third of this substantial case is dedicated to housing the tourbillon carriage.

The front, back, and right side of the case are covered in sapphire crystal, offering a transparent view to admire its intricate mechanics from any angle. Furthermore, the underside of the dial at the 6 o'clock position features a power reserve indicator displaying an extended 90-hour reserve, showcasing both its advanced functionality and unique character.

This dynamic design draws inspiration from 1970s home appliances and travel watches, developed under the hypothetical premise of 'what if Angelus had continued to create innovative timepieces without interruption?' Consequently, amidst its avant-garde aesthetic, there's a subtle sense of nostalgia, making it a fitting watch to herald the return of this esteemed heritage brand.
