Animal World Collection Watch
Monkey, Penguin, Polar Bear
To commemorate Chopard's 150th anniversary and its three-year partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for tiger conservation, the "Animal World Collection" was designed and created, featuring motifs of all animals, from mammals and birds to reptiles, fish, and insects. The image shows a triptych from fifteen high jewelry watches. The double-layered crystal covering the dials, depicting a monkey, penguin, and polar bear with diamonds and mother-of-pearl, is set with three moving diamonds, a patented Chopard technology familiar from the "Happy Diamonds" collection. These will surely adorn the wrist with fresh sparkle at all times.
Quartz, rose gold case (Monkey), white gold case (Penguin, Polar Bear), satin strap, 42mm case diameter, limited to 25 pieces each, ¥6,142,500 (Monkey), ¥5,355,000 (Penguin), ¥5,638,500 (Polar Bear), all pre-tax prices, scheduled for release this autumn.
BRAND HISTORY
Chopard's history began in 1860 with the production of pocket watch movements. It gained renown as a jewelry brand in the first half of the 20th century, and in the 1960s, the iconic "Happy Diamonds" was conceived. The sight of diamonds freely dancing within the dial continues to captivate women worldwide to this day.
Chopard also possesses solid expertise in the field of mechanical watches, its true forte. Since 1988, it has sponsored the "Mille Miglia" vintage car race and released collaboration models related to the event. The high quality of its mechanical watches, primarily chronographs released almost every year, has also established Chopard as a sporty brand.
In 1997, after more than four and a half years of development, the long-awaited manufacture caliber was completed. In the same year, the "L.U.C 1860" was unveiled, featuring a movement bearing the initials of founder Louis-Ulysse Chopard. Since then, Chopard has successively developed manufacture calibers.
In 2003, the complex watch "QuattroTourbillon" was released, and in 2005, the "L.U.C Fullset," which was the first to receive the new quality standard "Qualité Fleur de Lis," also garnered significant attention.
Then, in 2007, Chopard finally succeeded in developing the "L.U.C Chrono One," a model equipped with an in-house chronograph movement, said to be the most difficult to develop. The company continues its rapid development as a manufacture brand.
