A Collection That Proves Tissot's Technical Prowess

TISSOT | BASELWORLD 2015

"Chemin des Tourelles" refers to the small path in Le Locle, Switzerland, where Tissot built its first workshop in 1907 and where the current headquarters still stands.TissotThe skeleton watch bearing this name was released in 2014 to great acclaim. New for 2015, the "Chemin des Tourelles" collection welcomes chronometer models, certified for high precision, and chronographs equipped with stopwatch functions.

The Tissot Chemin des Tourelles Powermatic 80 Chronometer features a function that dramatically extends its power reserve. While many automatic mechanical watches offer around 48 hours of power reserve, Tissot has leveraged its technical expertise to achieve approximately 80 hours. Simultaneously, they have developed a movement that meets Swiss precision standards. The dial features a sunray finish near the center and a "Clous de Paris" hobnail pattern around the indices, creating a simple yet luxurious aesthetic. From the case to the bracelet, this model demonstrates Tissot's capabilities in every aspect.

A Refined Chronograph with a Motorsport Edge

The "PRS" line, an acronym for "Particularly Robust and Sporty," has been a staple model since its debut in 1965. The latest "PRS 516" is a chronograph inspired by motorsports.

This time, ETA has developed the reliable Cal. A05.H31 movement, which handles the chronograph functions and offers a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. The design is infused with a motorsport spirit, featuring a bezel with a carbon fiber tachymeter and a premium perforated leather strap.

The black-themed case is accented with striking blue details. The rotor, visible through the exhibition case back, is designed to resemble a steering wheel, embodying a sense of speed.

Making Practical Mechanical Watches Accessible to Women

The advantage of the "Powermatic 80" lies in its low maintenance. With an automatic winding mechanism and a power reserve of approximately 80 hours, it incorporates numerous innovations for efficient operation. For daily wear, there's virtually no concern about the mainspring running down; even if you take the watch off on Friday night, it will still be running on Monday morning, freeing you from the need to manually wind it.

Its precision is stable for a mechanical watch, making it easy for anyone to use. This "Powermatic 80" equipped ladies' model also excels in its finish. The case uses 18K rose gold while maintaining a light feel on the wrist. The white mother-of-pearl dial, typically challenging to engrave due to its delicate nature, features intricate guilloché decoration, captivating with its elaborate craftsmanship. The interplay of gold's luster and the classic, feminine design creates a luxurious adornment for the wrist.
