To create the "ideal watch" that embodies the brand's aesthetic in both appearance and substance, Bulgari has spent the past decade steadily building a system for in-house development and manufacturing of mechanical movements. This involved bringing the "Daniel Roth" and "Gerald Genta" brands, pioneers of contemporary complex watchmaking, under its group umbrella, along with companies manufacturing dials, cases, and bracelets. This year, the "Group Manufacture" plan has reached a significant milestone.

The mechanical model "Sotirio Bulgari," featuring the fully in-house automatic movement "BVL 168"—which can be considered the "base engine" for future Bulgari watches—has finally been released. Furthermore, new models from both the Daniel Roth and Gerald Genta brands were, for the first time, positioned as part of the Bulgari collection starting from this year's Basel Fair. This is nothing less than Bulgari's declaration of being a "true watchmaker."

Moving forward, under this structure, Bulgari is expected to release a succession of watches with unique appeal in both mechanism and design, from complex timepieces to standard models. The Sotirio Bulgari with the BVL 168 movement is the commemorative first model, heralding the arrival of this new era.

Additionally, the renewal of the iconic "Serpenti" ladies' watch, inspired by the snake, is likely another major highlight of the year.
