In-house Movement Models Paired with New Materials
A New Frontier for the "Submersible"
Panerai's 2015 SIHH releases are built around three main pillars. The first pillar is the "Submersible," with two models offered in Luminor 1950 cases made of titanium, and a new model featuring "Carbotech," a novel carbon fiber material that Panerai has adopted for watch cases for the first time in the world. Lightweight and robust, its unique surface pattern, woven from carbon fiber, was also a distinctive focal point. Furthermore, as limited editions, models equipped with the second pillar, a complication displaying the equation of time, and the third pillar, a historical reissue of the "Mare Nostrum," were also presented, sure to garner further support from enthusiastic fans.

Luminor 1950 Submersible 3 Days Automatic Carbotech™ 47mm
All-Black Design Featuring a Tough New Material
Alongside two new titanium case models for the distinctive unidirectional rotating bezel-equipped "Submersible" professional diver's watch, significant attention was drawn to the new material, "Carbotech™." Carbotech™ is a unique new material created by high-pressure compression of carbon fiber sheets with a polymer ester, then molded into case shapes. It is exceptionally strong yet lightweight, resistant to fading and corrosion, and hypoallergenic – ideal for watch cases.
The surface, with its layers of carbon fiber, subtly develops an irregular striped pattern, lending individuality to the matte, all-black finish. The bright blue accents on the small seconds, sub-dial, and the "OP" logo on the bracelet provide a striking contrast, suggesting this model will be popular for its color scheme as well.

Radiomir 1940 Equation of Time 8 Days Acciaio 48mm
Subtly Expressing the Depths of Astronomical Indication
There is a subtle difference between mean solar time, as determined by the sun's position, and mean time, as devised by humans. This is because the Earth's orbit around the sun is an ellipse with varying degrees of eccentricity, and its axis of rotation is tilted. The difference between mean solar time and mean time – the equation of time – can vary by up to ±15 minutes annually. The "Equation of Time" displays this difference on a gauge at the 6 o'clock position.
This mechanism is a complex complication that indicates the equation of time throughout the year using precise mechanical means. While the display is understated, it reflects the grand movements of celestial bodies. Additionally, the sub-dial at 3 o'clock indicates the month, and the power reserve is located on the case back, ensuring practicality.

Mare Nostrum Titanium 52mm
The Pleasure of Wearing a Legend on Your Wrist
"Mare Nostrum" means "Our Sea" in Latin, and its original prototype was developed in 1943 for deck officers of the Italian Navy. It is known as a phantom watch, as it was not officially adopted due to Italy's involvement in World War II that year. It has been reissued several times as a limited edition since 1993, making this a long-awaited return.
This iteration prioritizes fidelity to the original, maintaining the same size and featuring a solid screw-down case back, along with a recreated stepped dial structure. It is equipped with Cal. OP XXV, based on vintage Minerva movements, and its limited production makes it a rare piece. However, the case is crafted from titanium using the latest technology. The modern dial color, a brown shade different from previous models, has also been adopted. With its titanium case and other features, this watch offers excellent practicality.
Case | Titanium
Diameter | 52mm
Movement | Manual-winding (Cal. OP XXV)
Functions | Chronograph (30-minute counter)
Strap | Calfskin
Water Resistance | 3 bar
