Reverso Duette Duo
Text by OPENERS
A dual-time model for women who navigate the world with ease.
The "Reverso Duo" is popular for its dual-time function, featuring two dials on the front and back, each displaying a different time, all powered by a single movement. This "Reverso Duette Duo" is its ladies' model. Now, a much-anticipated stainless steel case version has been added to this model, which was previously only available in gold. Like the traditional gold case version, the case is set with diamonds. However, in this new specification, by changing the case material and limiting the diamond setting to the black reverse dial side, a more accessible price of approximately 1 million yen has been achieved. This is a model we can confidently recommend to women active on the world stage.
Manual winding, stainless steel case × diamonds, crocodile strap, case size 40.2 × 25mm, ¥997,500, scheduled for release in April.
BRAND HISTORY
Among Swiss watchmaking, this is one of the few brands that has consistently maintained its history as a manufacture brand since its founding. Its origins trace back to a watch parts manufacturing company opened by Antoine LeCoultre in 1833. He made a living designing machine tools for watchmaking, and he devised one useful machine tool after another for improving watch quality, greatly influencing the watchmaking world. He eventually began manufacturing movements himself.
In 1903, the watch workshop left by Antoine LeCoultre formed a business partnership with Edmond Jaeger, with whom they had a cooperative relationship through chronometer manufacturing. In 1937, the company name was changed to the current Jaeger-LeCoultre. During this period, they continued their development efforts without pause, creating the masterpiece rectangular watch, the "Reverso."
Jaeger-LeCoultre has developed a vast number of movements throughout its history. Currently, all models undergo its own rigorous 1000-hour inspection system, ensuring unwavering quality. The brand continues to develop new mechanisms that surpass those of its competitors. As of 2007, it has established four major lines: the rectangular "Reverso," the round "Master Control," the "Master Compressor" with enhanced water resistance achieved through a unique compression key, and the "Duomètre," added in 2007.
Furthermore, in 2007, they unveiled the "Master Compressor Extreme LAB," which achieved complete maintenance-free operation, a dream in the watchmaking world. Their relentless spirit of innovation continues to grow year by year. Experts worldwide eagerly anticipate the new mechanisms Jaeger-LeCoultre will develop.
