The Ultimate Partner for the Modern Adventurer

Since its debut in 2018, the Polaris collection has set a new standard with its contemporary, sporty aesthetic. Designed as a companion for everyday adventures, the newly unveiled Polaris Chronograph further refines this philosophy.
Its greatest appeal lies in the masterful fusion of Jaeger-LeCoultre's signature elegance with the robustness and practicality expected of a sports watch. Paying homage to Jaeger-LeCoultre's iconic dive watches of the 1960s, it translates their sporting spirit into a modern style. While retaining vintage charm, it achieves a confident, contemporary design.
The 42mm steel case offers a harmonious and highly wearable size, providing exceptional versatility for both casual, elegant daily wear and high-performance sports watch needs.
The case design incorporates key Polaris design codes throughout: clean lines, sharply curved lugs, a slim bezel, sapphire crystal, and a striking combination of satin and polished finishes, lending it an essential beauty that is both modern and timeless.
The large crown and robust pushers, hallmarks of the 1960s models that inspired the modern Polaris series, have been refined for improved grip and ease of use. These operational elements strike an excellent balance between practicality and design.
The dial is finished in ocean-grey lacquer. Framed by the case's modern, clean lines, this dial presents a striking design with the rich luster of lacquer contrasted by vibrant orange details that highlight the chronograph's sporty character.
This dial boasts a complex structure, comprising a central disc, a middle ring fitted with hour markers, and an outer ring engraved with a tachymeter scale.
A sunray finish on the central disc creates a subtle contrast with the smooth luster of the hour ring. In both sections, the lacquer transitions gradually from light to dark tones, imbuing the dial with visual depth.
The lacquer finish on this dial requires exceptionally advanced techniques and considerable time. Precision is paramount, as each layer is applied by hand.
First, a transparent varnish is applied, followed by four layers of color. A black layer is then applied to create a gradient effect. The primary challenge here is controlling both the shade and the gradient to ensure alignment between the two main sections.
Subsequently, thirty coats of translucent lacquer are applied to add depth and richness to the color. This process alone involves a total of thirty-five lacquer layers, resulting in a piece that can only be described as art.
The dial layout features a timeless and intuitively legible design. The central chronograph seconds hand allows for precise reading of key measurements. A 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock and a sub-dial at 9 o'clock, balanced by the seconds display, bring vitality to the overall dial.
Furthermore, the perlage decoration on the sub-dials creates a striking contrast with the polished central dial and the textured hour ring. While adhering to the modern Polaris design codes, the skeletonized hands enhance legibility, and the bold, trapezoidal indexes balance the delicate details of the chronograph display.
The automatic movement, Calibre 761, is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. This fully integrated chronograph movement, featuring a double barrel, is equipped with a column-wheel chronograph mechanism with a vertical clutch and boasts a 65-hour power reserve.
The finishing of the movement showcases Jaeger-LeCoultre's traditional decorative techniques without compromise. Blue screws, Côtes de Genève decoration on the base plate, and the signature open-worked rotor bearing the "JL" motif are just a few examples of the meticulous finishing applied throughout.
Two interchangeable straps are included: one in blue-grey canvas and another in textured black rubber, allowing for an instant change of style.
Combining the beauty of its ocean-grey lacquered dial, its performance, and its remarkable versatility, this watch is poised to be a reliable companion for every occasion, from everyday adventures to special moments.
