Bulgari's Watchmaking Advances with its First Fully In-House Movement
To commemorate its 125th anniversary,Bulgariunveiled a collection featuring its first models equipped with a fully in-house manufactured movement. The new "Sotirio Bulgari" collection, named after the founder, is characterized by its strong lugs. New additions to the popular "Assioma D" and "Bulgari Bulgari" lines further solidified its position as a serious watchmaker.

Bulgari's first fully in-house movement, the automatic caliber "B89" with a 150-degree date retrograde mechanism, makes its debut. Housed in a refined case that blends contemporary sensibilities with classic touches like the soleil guilloché on the entire dial, it is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship. Composed of 89 parts crafted through 165 processes and assembled by 15 watchmakers in Bulgari's own workshops, its mechanism, visible through the sapphire case back, is equally impressive with its soleil finishing and circular Côtes de Genève decoration, reflecting a commitment to beauty in every detail.
Automatic, stainless steel case with alligator strap, 42mm diameter, 10.71mm thickness, 735,000 yen, scheduled for September release.

This model features the in-house developed annual calendar module, caliber BVL360, which displays the day and month in a central window and indicates the date via a retrograde display across 225 degrees with a hand coaxial to the hour and minute hands. Paired with a multi-layered, in-house dial crafted with a skillful interplay of azure, guilloché, and satin-circulaire finishes, this new "Sotirio Bulgari" is a highly prized piece among watch connoisseurs. It showcases Bulgari's exceptional design sense, achieving a functional yet elegantly simple and refined aesthetic.

Launched in 2007, the "Assioma D" is a popular ladies' model known for its elegantly curved case that gracefully fits a slender wrist, combined with Bulgari's signature strong presence. While previously only available in gold, this year sees the highly anticipated addition of eight models in stainless steel. Alongside the elegantly simple versions without diamonds, the model featured here is set with a total of 0.9 carats of round brilliant-cut diamonds on the left and right bezels, making it a fitting timepiece for the active woman. Its radiant yet cool demeanor shines through.
