This year, 2014, Piaget has once again demonstrated bold innovation with a new model that sets the record for the thinnest hand-wound watch. By developing and integrating the new Caliber 900P movement—where the movement's mainplate, which holds the gears, springs, and cams, is fused with the case, much like the monocoque construction of cars and aircraft—they have achieved an astonishing case thickness of 3.65mm.
