New Timepieces Hinting at the Future
In just over a decade since the launch of the "L.U.C" collection in 1997, Chopard has not only revived and advanced the tradition of mechanical watchmaking but also established itself in the world of elegant ladies' watches, with high jewelry models favored by Hollywood celebrities serving as its flagship. As enthusiasts know, the brand has solidified its position as one of Switzerland's foremost watch Maisons, recognized both in name and deed.
For automotive enthusiasts, the 2013 new collection highlights driver's watches. Particularly noteworthy are the two models from the "Superfast" line, the highest tier of the "Classic Racing" collection, which feature new in-house movements: a chronograph and a power reserve model.
Of course, the latest iteration of the popular "Mille Miglia 2013 GMT Chronograph," named after Italy's legendary road race, is also a must-see.
From the "L.U.C" collection, complex models "L.U.C Perpetual T" and "L.U.C Engine One H" have been introduced to meet the expectations of watch aficionados. Another highlight this year is the addition of a mechanical (automatic) model to the "Happy Sport" series, celebrating its 20th anniversary with its signature dancing diamonds.
Chopard plans to expand its lineup of highly prestigious mechanical timepieces to include more high jewelry models. This year's exhibition showcased new watches that hint at such a future.
