The "44GS" Limited Edition (Reproduction Design, Manual-Wound)
A Complete Reproduction of the "44GS" Design That Established the Seiko Style
Born in 1960 as a luxury watch brand for Japanese-made timepieces, Grand Seiko. The "44GS (Yon-Yon-G-S)", a model that can be called the origin of what would later be known as "Seiko Style," has been completely reproduced this year, marking the 100th anniversary of Seiko watches. It was announced at Baselworld.

A Limited Collection Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Seiko Watches
It is no exaggeration to say that the appeal of Grand Seiko lies in its high-precision mechanical movements, meticulously crafted by movement designers and watchmakers striving to catch up with and surpass Switzerland, and in the "Seiko Style" established by Mr. Taro Tanaka, Seiko's chief designer in the 1960s.
Seiko watches, created with a design grammar unlike any other in the world, are simple and highly functional. Their rare style, beautiful like jewels yet clearly legible, and the artistic finishing of the case through craftsmanship are the epitome of Made in Japan.
And the model that perfectly embodies this grammar, highly praised by Seiko fans as "the masterpiece of masterpieces," is the "44GS (Yon-Yon-G-S)" in short, produced for only about two years from 1967. It is so named because it was equipped with the Caliber 4420 movement.
This limited edition reproduction model faithfully recreates its design, from the case and hands to the cap set on the case back and the emblem on the buckle. The crystal reproduces the original shape and is made of a box-shaped sapphire crystal (with anti-reflective coating) that is resistant to scratches.
In addition to the stainless steel model that also reproduces the dial color, models in yellow gold, white gold, and pink gold are available. The time accuracy when worn is +10 to -1 seconds per day. This model is exclusively available at "Grand Seiko Master Shops."
