Expressing the "Time of the Moon" Across the Entire Dial: A Poetic Approach with Complex Mechanics

Unveiled at SIHH 2019, the new Hermès Arceau Le Temps Voyageur is distinguished by its innovative concept: the simultaneous display of moon phases for both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. On a dial adorned with two moons rendered in mother-of-pearl, two movable sub-dials indicating hours, minutes, and date appear to float as if in zero gravity. Their orbital path, maintained in a horizontal plane, illustrates the lunar phases.



This unique double moon phase mechanism is realized through a special module integrated into the Hermès Manufacture's H1837 movement, reflecting Hermès' free-spirited concept of "time." The dial is available in two versions: meteorite and aventurine. On dials representing lunar craters and starry skies, two sub-dials trace celestial orbits, inviting the wearer into the vastness of space.




The indices of the sub-dials are styled with the italic Arabic numerals that are the icon of the "Arceau" collection. The strap is paired with matte alligator in graphite or blue abyss, exuding an elegant refinement. This original "Arceau Le Temps Voyageur" is limited to 100 pieces worldwide for each version and is scheduled for release around June 2019.
