The "GP1966" collection, born from one of Girard-Perregaux's most dynamic and brilliant eras, welcomes the "GP1966 40MM." Inspired by the Maison's 2019 theme, "Earth to Sky," it captures the shifting blue of the sky through a gradient finish.

Girard-Perregaux is a manufacture watchmaker founded in 1791. In 1966, the Neuchâtel Observatory, which certified and accredited chronometer competition watches and specially adjusted timepieces, awarded Girard-Perregaux its Centenary Prize to commemorate the observatory's 100th anniversary, recognizing its precise watchmaking expertise. The "GP1966" collection was born in tribute to this special year.
The "GP1966" captivates with its elegant design, featuring curved lugs, bezel, sapphire crystal, and case back, complemented by a gently domed cover. The hallmark of this new collection piece, the "GP1966 40MM," is its exquisitely refined blue gradient dial, achieved through a "franken" finish.
The dial expresses the blue of the sky transitioning from day to night, embodying the Maison's 2019 "Earth to Sky" theme with a radial blue gradient emanating from the dial's center. The main plate and bridges are adorned with Côtes de Genève, while leaf-shaped hands and baton hour markers, along with Roman numerals, create a harmonious aesthetic with the gradient blue dial.
This new model houses the automatic-winding Caliber GP03300, offering approximately 46 hours of power reserve, within an exceptionally slim case. It ensures comfortable wear, even under a jacket, presenting an elegant timepiece in both design and function.
