The new construction makes assembling the watch extremely difficult, but Patek Philippe President Thierry Stern explains that the difficulty of assembly is justified in order to "give an audible difference to an unparalleled grand complication."





The movement is self-winding. However, it uses a micro-rotor that does not obstruct the gongs, revealing the repeater mechanism. Furthermore, it is remarkable that this complex mechanism is housed within a case thickness of just 11.49mm, achieving a superb balance between functionality and aesthetic beauty.

The landscape depicted on the dial using the cloisonné technique is a view of Lavaux overlooking Lake Geneva. This is a scenic landscape in Switzerland, also a UNESCO World Heritage site. The depiction, using 22 colors of enamel on a mere 17.1mm diameter space, is another charm of this watch. It is an entertaining high-complication model that delights both the ears and the eyes.
