Artistic interplay of light and shadow
HERMÈS' NEW "Carré H"
At SIHH 2018, Hermès unveiled its new "Carré H." The case has been enlarged, and various finishes and decorations are now highlighted in three dimensions by light, giving the dial a renewed, sophisticated impression.

Focus on the interplay of light and shadow across the dial and the typography
The "Carré H," designed by architect and designer Marc Berthier with a focus on modern form and high legibility, was renewed in 2018. In French, "carré" means square, and "H" is also the initial of Hermès.
The new "Carré H" features a larger 38mm case compared to the model released in 2010. This effectively accentuates the interplay of light and shadow across the dial, with its right-angled guilloché pattern, faceted hands, and numerals.
Additionally, by adding a "0" to the original typography for the Arabic numeral indices, all numbers become two-digit, creating a balanced and beautiful harmony. It is a graphical and sophisticated watch, true to Hermès' style.
