When Breguet seriously pursued the classics, this is what happened! "Classique 7147" | Breguet

Showcasing an Identity Since Its Founding in 1775
The Pursuit and Refinement of Elegant, Sophisticated Details
Indeed, God resides in the details. This unblemished beauty, this commanding presence! This new creation possesses an overwhelming aura, as if lightly dismissing the current trend for dress watches and the design movement towards classicism. Why is it that, despite its lack of ostentation, it feels like the most eloquent timepiece at this year's Baselworld?...

An Elegant Harmony Composed of Five Details
1. Grand Feu Dial
Grand Feu means 'great fire.' The name comes from the dial being enveloped in flame during the firing process after applying a vitreous enamel. Grand Feu, considered the basis of enamel techniques, is monochromatic, unforgiving, and carries a high risk of failure due to its multifaceted process. Furthermore, this model features a concave sub-dial, a simple detail that demands exceptional craftsmanship. And if you shift your gaze from the center of the dial to the 3 o'clock position, you'll notice Breguet's hidden print (secret signature).
2. Delicate Printing
It is customary to print the indices on a Grand Feu dial. Applying applied indices or engraving the dial could risk cracking the fired and hardened dial. The Arabic numeral indices evoke Breguet's early watches and clocks, and the slender font, reminiscent of brushstrokes, enhances the sense of exclusivity. The script logo is also classical. Even the minute track on the outer edge of the dial has a certain atmosphere.
3. Blue Steel Hands
Blue hands stand out against the white dial. Moreover, they are Breguet's signature Breguet hands, featuring a decorative hole at the tip of the hour and minute hands. Upon closer inspection, even this hole has a three-dimensional quality, creating beautiful shading. This form is intentionally designed to achieve a synergistic effect.
4. Classical Case Shape
The absence of a bezel, making the dial appear larger, is also a convention of classical design. The lugs are simple, reminiscent of the era when pocket watches were adapted into wristwatches. This simplicity perfectly complements the watch's face.
5. See-Through Case Back
The enjoyment extends to the back. One can admire the magnificent movement, adorned with Côtes de Genève and perlage decorations. Simultaneously, the latest mechanisms, such as the silicon balance spring, can be observed.
While the evolution of wristwatches knows no bounds, there is also a certain appeal in models that seem to reverse the flow of time, focusing on the very origins of watchmaking. This is because they embody aspiration.
New ideas. New technologies. While everyone is swept up in the currents of their time, there is an elegance in a beauty that remains unchanging and universal. It is natural to harbor aspirations for that elegance.
