BVLGARI
Pushing the boundaries of contemporary haute horlogerie once more. Introducing the "Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar," a new release that sets its seventh world record.
The "Octo Finissimo" collection, which has garnered approximately 60 international accolades between 2014 and 2021, welcomes its latest creation. The "Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar" showcases exceptional craftsmanship, housing a perpetual calendar complication within an ultra-thin 5.8mm case. This allows for date verification without manual adjustment until February 2100, even accounting for leap year exceptions.

A new record for the world's thinnest perpetual calendar movement.
Launched in 2014, the "Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Manual" featured the BVL268 caliber, a hand-wound flying tourbillon movement measuring a mere 1.95mm in thickness. In the seven years leading up to 2021, the Octo watch collection achieved around 60 international awards, consistently realizing groundbreaking thinness. Bulgari has thus emerged as a master of aesthetics, driving radical innovation in both form and function.
Bulgari has relentlessly pursued ultimate thinness in automatic movements, minute repeaters, chronographs, and tourbillons. In 2021, the world's thinnest "Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar" was born. This timepiece, which establishes a new world record, will be released in two models: one in titanium, Bulgari's signature material for its record-breaking Octo watches, and another in platinum.
The "Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar," with its astonishingly slim 5.8mm case, houses 408 individual components. To achieve this, engineers at Bulgari's Le Sentier manufacture, responsible for designing the movements, undertook the challenge of developing a 2.75mm thick caliber. This led to the adoption of a micro-rotor and the ingenious optimization of space without compromising component size.
This achievement, a testament to the engineering team's genius in miniaturization, refines all functions of the perpetual calendar. Beyond the hours and minutes, it includes retrograde displays for the day, month, and even leap years. The date (at 2 o'clock), month (at 4 o'clock), and day (between 8 and 9 o'clock) are all adjustable via three correctors.
This complication allows for time verification without date correction until February 2100, the exception year for leap years.
