Introducing the "Tsuno Chrono," a reissue of the 1973 Chronograph Challenge Timer, with two standard models and six exclusive models.

The "Chronograph Challenge Timer," Citizen's first chronograph watch, affectionately known as the "Tsuno Chrono" due to the crown and pushers positioned at the 12 o'clock side of the case resembling horns. The "TSUNO CHRONO," which revives its iconic design, will be released in early October 2021 with two standard models and six exclusive models.

A modern take on the retro crown and pusher "horn" design

The "Chronograph Challenge Timer," Citizen's first watch with a full chronograph function, debuted in 1973. Affectionately known as the "Tsuno Chrono" for the crown and pushers at the 12 o'clock side of the case resembling horns, its design has been revived in the "TSUNO CHRONO" with two standard models and six exclusive models.

All models feature the distinctive design with the crown and pushers at the 12 o'clock side of the case. The smooth, flowing 38mm case harmonizes with the sharp-edged bezel. In addition to the standard models, exclusive models from five brands—"BEAMS," "BEAUTY & YOUTH," "JOURNAL STANDARD," "On Time Move," and "Red Monkey"—will also be available.
The "BEAMS" model is finished to evoke the colors and design of the original. Two versions are available: a simple silver and an impactful gold. The "BEAUTY & YOUTH" model, befitting the brand's image, offers an urban and sophisticated all-black finish, blending retro charm with refined coolness. The "JOURNAL STANDARD" model features an attractive reverse panda color scheme, with a black dial and white sub-dials, highlighting the contrast between its cool impression and rounded volume.
The "On Time Move" model recreates the green dial that was released in 1973, a must-see colorway that exudes retro charm, essential to the Challenge Timer's story. The "Red Monkey" model, from the leather brand favored by Los Angeles celebrities, uses a handmade cowhide strap—the same type worn by Brad Pitt's stuntman character in the 1969 Hollywood film "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."
Reservations for these exclusive models are being accepted at each brand's shop.
