A Model of Ultimate Slenderness | PIAGET

PIAGET

The Pinnacle of Ultra-Thin Models

The evolution of watchmaking mechanisms often occurs when pursuing smaller, thinner designs. This is because development is driven by the pursuit of space efficiency, requiring immense dedication. If you wish to appreciate the ingenuity of timepieces designed to the utmost limits of micro-spatial engineering, not just for their elegance, the world's thinnest "Altiplano" is the one to choose.

Advanced Development Capabilities Achieve World's Thinnest

Looking at vintage watches, one can see that in the past, the competition in micro-technology was driven by the pursuit of thinness and small size. Piaget has been dedicated to the art of crafting slim, elegant watches, a path that can be considered the very essence of watchmaking.

While globally renowned as a jeweler, Piaget has also reigned in the watchmaking world as a prestigious manufacture, one of the few in Switzerland to possess an integrated production facility.

This "Piaget Altiplano 38mm 900P," introduced in 2014, is the world's thinnest hand-wound wristwatch. Through an ingenious design that integrates the case's inner surface with the movement's baseplate, an unprecedented feat, it achieves a case thickness of a mere 3.36mm, leaving absolutely no wasted space.

You can have the rare opportunity to wear a watch that holds the title of "the world's most..." on a daily basis.

The History of Altiplano

A History of Repeatedly Setting the World's Thinnest Record
The "Piaget Altiplano" is a revival of an ultra-thin model from 1957, equipped with the hand-wound Cal.9P, measuring a mere 2mm in thickness (pictured right).

Then, as if to defy the trend of increasingly large watches in the early 21st century, Piaget introduced several watches that claimed the title of "world's thinnest" under various conditions.

The "Piaget Altiplano" was not only elegant but also a testament to Piaget's technical prowess.
