To commemorate SEIKO's 140th anniversary, five limited edition models inspired by Japan's uniquely evocative landscapes will be released sequentially from February to March 2021, across the SEIKO PROSPEX, SEIKO PRESAGE, and SEIKO ASTRON collections.

In 1881, Kintaro Hattori founded "K. Hattori & Co., Ltd." Initially focused on selling and repairing imported watches, Kintaro Hattori, aiming for in-house watch manufacturing, established the "Seikosha" watch factory in 1892 and began producing wall clocks.

Seikosha produced highly precise and high-quality products through integrated in-house manufacturing from parts to assembly. Three years later, they began producing pocket watches, which were in high demand at the time. Foreseeing the advent of the wristwatch era, they started manufacturing Japan's first wristwatch in 1913, laying the foundation for Japan's watch industry up to the present-day "SEIKO."

To commemorate the 140th anniversary of the founding of "K. Hattori & Co., Ltd.," five limited edition models inspired by Japan's evocative landscapes will be released from the SEIKO PROSPEX, SEIKO PRESAGE, and SEIKO ASTRON collections.

From SEIKO PROSPEX, three models in the diver's collection, inspired by the beauty of Iriomote Island, will be released. All are limited edition models designed with the deep green scenery of Iriomote Island, which nurtures its rich sea, as their motif.

Approximately 90 percent of Iriomote Island is covered by subtropical natural forests, and vast mangrove forests are formed downstream from rivers flowing from the mountains. The dial color expresses this world of deep green, conveying a powerful vitality, combined with gold-colored hands that evoke sunlight filtering through the primeval forest.

The "Marine Master Professional" is a professional diving watch equipped with the mechanical caliber "8L35" exclusively for diver's watches and a 300-meter saturation diving water resistance function. Based on the 1968 mechanical diver's watch with a modern design interpretation, the lineup also includes the "1968 Mechanical Divers Modern Design" with an automatic movement, and the "Solar Chronograph" which adopts a robust design affectionately known as "SUMO" among fans. An SS bracelet is pre-attached, and a deep green reinforced silicone strap, harmonizing with the dial color, is also included for strap changes.

From SEIKO PRESAGE, based on the new "Sharp Edged Series" design launched in September 2020, a model inspired by "Akatsuki" (dawn), the time when the morning sun begins to shine through the night sky, will be released. The theme of the morning sun's sparkle, symbolizing the dawn, is expressed through an all-black case and a gradient dial representing the pre-dawn sky, while sharp, shining gold hands and indexes depict the dazzling morning sun.

A further characteristic is the design that inherits Japan's unique aesthetic of expressing essence by reducing elements to the bare minimum. The powerful brilliance created by the sharp silhouette, composed mainly of edged flat surfaces, stylishly accentuates the wrist. The traditional Japanese Asanoha (hemp leaf) pattern on the dial reflects light in different directions, creating a deep and beautiful radiance.

In addition to the pre-attached SS bracelet, a black calf leather strap with an embossed pattern reminiscent of the morning sun piercing the night sky is included for strap changes. The movement is the mechanical caliber "6R35," which offers approximately 70 hours of power reserve, allowing it to be used on Monday even if not worn over the weekend.

The SEIKO ASTRON "Global Line Authentic 5X" is a GPS solar watch that expresses the fantastical scene of "Yozakura" (night cherry blossoms) illuminated by starlight. The all-black case, evoking the night sky, features a dark purple base with glitter and gradation, depicting cherry blossoms dancing in the wind and stars in the night sky on the dial.

The design, inheriting the case silhouette with its gentle curves, large lugs, and slim bezel from the 1969 "Quartz Astron," is equipped with the GPS solar caliber "5X53," the highest performance in Astron's history. It boasts dramatic improvements in the speed of hand movement during time correction with "high-speed time zone correction" and a "time transfer function" for quick local time adjustment with a single push. While combining high functionality and power-saving technology, it achieves an impressive compact size with a case diameter of 42.7mm.

Of these five models, two from PRESAGE and ASTRON will be available from February 19, 2021 (Friday), and the three PROSPEX models will be available from March 6, 2021 (Saturday), exclusively at SEIKO Global Brand Core Shops.
