Jasper Morrison, one of Britain’s foremost product designers, has designed the watch "r5.5," which is now drawing attention from designers, watch enthusiasts, and many people across various fields.

Jasper Morrison began his collaboration with the watch brand RADO in 2007. To date, he has collaborated on projects such as remodeling the "CeramicaChronograph" for RADO's 50th anniversary, and designing the packaging for the watch box. However, with "r5.5," he has unveiled his first watch design.


The "r5.5" is a watch that catches the eye with its all-black ceramic and minimalist design, stripped of anything superfluous. A distinctive feature, unique to Jasper Morrison, is the square shape softened by a curve with a radius of 5.5 millimeters, the origin of the model's name. This natural, smooth line embodies the "super normal" worldview that Jasper Morrison has championed in his design work.

Furthermore, the bracelet of this watch is also worthy of attention. By considering the bracelet as an extension of the case, a design was adopted where the width gradually narrows. In addition to the line of ceramic links that progressively decrease in width, the negative curves at the connection points between the case and the bracelet ensure a comfortable fit.
