A Square Model of Tradition and Originality | GIRARD-PERREGAUX
GIRARD-PERREGAUX
A Square Model of Tradition and Originality
Since most watches are round, the choice of a square model makes it a bold statement piece that immediately draws attention to the wrist. When this is a gold model from a long-established manufacture, its presence is exceptionally powerful, exuding a strong aura in both function and design.

Exquisite Dial Design Balance
There was a design style that swept the world in the first half of the 20th century: Art Deco. It had a significant impact on watch design. It emphasized functionality while suppressing ornamentation, and incorporated geometric elements and symmetry, along with the contrast between straight lines and curves, into many product designs.
In the case of the "Vintage 1945" featured here, the square case appears straight when viewed from the front, but curves to follow the wrist when viewed from the side, improving comfort and elegantly showcasing the watch. The unique large date display, indicated by two discs at the 12 o'clock position, and the moon phase at 6 o'clock, serve as accents on the dial, emphasizing the symmetrical composition. The pink gold case offers a refined sense of luxury, adding a touch of splendor befitting a gift.
