Layering enhances balance and makes pieces more cohesive.
—You often layer delicate jewelry, don't you?
“I don’t really go for a single statement piece. I prefer wearing many delicate, slender items. Color is also important. I’m hesitant to wear gold jewelry with a silver watch. I like to unify the metal color, from the watch to the belt and even zippers. This creates an urban and sophisticated atmosphere.”
—Are there any particular points to consider when wearing jewelry?
“Balance is crucial. Even small pieces of jewelry can make a statement, and a single ring can define a person's impression. That’s why I suggest layering. Adding several elements creates better balance and makes the pieces feel more integrated.”
—Wearing three rings together really changes the overall image, doesn't it?
“Exactly. There’s a lot you can only understand by actually trying them on together, rather than just thinking about it.”
The key is to enjoy coordinating with a free spirit.
—On the other hand, layering might seem more difficult for amateurs.
“If you enjoy coordinating in your own way, it’s actually easier to add elements. Once you get used to it, you can start subtracting, aiming for a simple finish. CORE JEWELS offers various lineups even with the same motif, so you can get creative.”
—Are there any rules?
“Generally speaking, there are very few rules for accessories. While men's fashion has many conventions, jewelry is often quite free. So, you could use an earring like a pin and pair it with the rivets on your jeans. Or, try attaching one to a hat; that’s stylish too.”
Jewelry can also serve as a talisman, imbued with memories.
—Can you be creative even in formal settings?
“Using them as cufflinks is a good idea. However, it’s important to keep the styling simple in that case. CORE JEWELS products are high quality, so they create an elegant look even in formal settings.”
—What does jewelry mean to men?
“While the material value is important, I believe its role as a memento or talisman, carrying memories, is even greater. Therefore, I hope people will cherish their favorite pieces for a long time. They become truly yours as you use them. And then, how you enjoy wearing them. That playful spirit leads to personal style.”
—Finally, what are your hopes for CORE JEWELS in the future?
“As someone who enjoys layering, I’m delighted about the release of the silver line with its more accessible price point. Also, I’d love to see more charms that allow for playful coordination (laughs).”
