Case design reflects watchmaking philosophy
This year, 2008, marks the 10th anniversary of Franck Muller’s Conquistador.
The Conquistador is known for its impressively dynamic and three-dimensional style. Within its carefully crafted form and design, one can discern the path Franck Muller has taken in pursuit of his core principles.
When one thinks of Franck Muller, many likely picture the "Cintree Curvex" with its beautiful Art Deco style and three-dimensional curved case.
His dedication to case design, in particular, is exceptional, and even a single case conveys his profound passion for watchmaking.
The Cintree Curvex has also been a beloved design since the early days. When housed in this case, any mechanical watch becomes unmistakably Franck Muller’s, making it an iconic design for the brand.
For him, it is a cherished design that, like the round case, has cultivated his unique identity.

Essence refined through continuous innovation
The Conquistador is an evolution of the Curvex case, refined through exploration.
This case was developed to house a newly engineered automatic movement. As its name, "Conquistador" (conqueror), suggests, its sporty and dynamic appearance—characterized by a thick case, luminous dial, and rubber strap—marked a departure from Franck Muller's previous creations, even within the same tonneau case family.
At the time of its release, large and thick designs were mainstream, so the focus was primarily on its dynamic power. However, elegant details, such as guilloché on the dial, were later incorporated, showcasing Franck Muller's signature refinement.
It has now become a representative tonneau design that speaks to his unique elegance. By deliberately altering his past styles, Franck Muller further accentuated his individuality. This is how he has consistently pushed forward and refined his essence.
New "Conquistador Joker"
This year's new Conquistador model, the "Conquistador Joker," reveals a new form of elegance, characteristic of Franck Muller.
While his previous jewelry watches often had a glamorous and dazzling image, featuring baguette-cut or fully paved diamonds, the Joker subtly incorporates diamonds on the indexes, enhancing its understated sophistication. This is a design only possible for Franck Muller, who has confronted and mastered the pinnacle of luxury.
Changing one's style is indeed innovation, but for him, it has also meant continuously advancing and refining his work to further polish his essential identity. This accumulation of individuality is Franck Muller's mastery, and it is evident in the Conquistador.
