A highly anticipated round men's version has arrived for the ladies' model that won the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix in 2006.
The large moon phase, occupying nearly half the dial, is highly accurate, with an error of only one day in 100 years.

The realistically depicted moon phase is complemented by a classical pointer date and a unique guilloché decoration, lending the dial a mysterious ambiance.

Self-winding. See-through case back. 28,800 vibrations per hour. 42-hour power reserve. Case diameter 40.0mm. Case thickness 12.0mm. Stainless steel case. Alligator strap. ¥598,500 (estimated retail price). Scheduled for release in September 2007.

BRAND HISTORY

Abraham-Louis Perrelet was a great Swiss watchmaker who announced the first self-winding mechanism in 1777 and was hailed as the "father of the self-winding watch." He was also the founder of a prestigious workshop that produced many excellent watchmakers, including his grandson Louis Frédéric Piguet, who devised the split-seconds chronograph mechanism.

In the latter half of the 20th century, the brand bearing the Perrelet name was revived. In 1995, as a tribute to the founder, the "Double Rotor" self-winding mechanism, featuring automatic winding rotors on both sides of the movement, was unveiled. It was patented and quickly gained renown.

The brand continued to release innovative creations, but in 2005, it underwent a major review of its collections and relaunched as the new Perrelet. The case finishing was significantly improved, and the patented sapphire crystal rotor was adopted to enhance the visibility of the self-winding mechanism, solidifying its status as a luxury brand.

Furthermore, complications such as tourbillons and five-minute repeaters were successively introduced. In 2007, the brand achieved remarkable advancements in both design and mechanics, including the launch of its first sports collection.
