Modern x Classic Design Inspired by Books

Since its launch in 1995, SEIKO Lukia has garnered strong support, particularly from working women in their 20s and 30s, for its sophisticated design and cutting-edge functionality. The brand name "LUKIA" is a coined word combining the initial letters of L=Lucid, U=Unison, K=Keen, I=Intellectual, and A=Active.

For the Spring 2014 collection, the brand focused on "Intellectual" and "Active" from its naming, envisioning the intelligent and active woman. The dials, inspired by books and bookstores that satisfy "intellectual curiosity," feature classical typography reminiscent of those found in old tomes. Paired with stylish cases and bands finished with a mirror polish, the result is a design that masterfully blends modern and classic elements for an intelligent yet feminine aesthetic.

The collection offers two case shapes: round and tonneau. Naturally, functionality is also paramount. All models are equipped with solar radio wave reception for four areas and five stations (two in Japan, China, the US, and Germany), eliminating the need for battery changes or time adjustments and ensuring accurate timekeeping whether on business trips or traveling. Among the new models are "Comfortex" models, which are easy to read and resistant to scratches, and "Comfortex Titanium" models that utilize skin-friendly titanium.
