A New 48mm Case Size
MasterpieceChronographZENITH has long emphasized its significant presence in the realm of pilot watches, highlighted by its "El Primero" mechanical chronograph movement and its close ties with figures like Louis Blériot, the father of French aviation who made the first English Channel crossing in 1909, and the French Air Force. This connection has been a key part of its narrative since 2011.
Last year, 2012, saw the release of the "Pilot Aeronef Type 20" and its family, which revived and adapted the dashboard clock known as the "Type 20" into a wristwatch. This significantly expanded the collection, complementing the already popular pilot watches equipped with the "El Primero" movement, and further solidified the brand's standing. At an exhibition held in Geneva in January 2013, the brand declared its intention to further enhance this "Aeronef Type 20" family.
While the full scope of the family, including other new models, will be detailed in our report from "Baselworld 2013 (Basel Fair)" starting in late May, we invite you first to explore these two new GMT models, now housed in a more practical and wearable 48mm case, which were announced prior to Basel Fair.
