The "Type XXII" was born in 2011 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the French Naval Aviation unit and the 50th anniversary of Breguet's "Type XX" chronographs being supplied to this unit.

In addition to the chronograph movement, it incorporates a silicon escapement and a silicon balance spring, which provides excellent regulation capabilities and achieves a world-first frequency of 10Hz (72,000 vibrations per hour). This new technology doubles the accuracy of the measurement start function and readings, while the use of silicon reduces the weight of moving parts and resolves lubrication issues caused by high oscillation.

The central chronograph minute counter accumulates in 30-second increments to measure minutes. Furthermore, the red and white minute ring on the flange and the second ring with similarly colored numbers indicate whether the chronograph's second hand is in its first or second 30-second revolution.

And, of course, it is equipped with the signature flyback function. With a single action, the total display can be reset to zero while simultaneously starting a new measurement. The dial also features a second time zone display and a date window. Using the crown, which can be locked in two positions, the second time zone display can be reset by moving the hour hand without affecting the minute hand. If the crown is left in this position, the date window will display according to the time zone shown in the center.

The 24-hour day/night indicator at 3 o'clock allows for quick determination of whether the second time zone region is experiencing day or night. At 9 o'clock, a sub-dial, which also serves as the watch's "finishing touch," shines. In terms of design, the sporty chronograph is enhanced with a strap featuring striking red and white stitching on brown leather, adding a touch of flair.

The 18K rose gold case offers a different expression than stainless steel. This is a timepiece unique to Breguet, embodying its unparalleled passion for watchmaking and inheriting designs once favored by royalty and nobility.
