Cartier's Artistic Rare Pieces (1)
Since 2009, Cartier has captivated watch enthusiasts by unveiling complex timepieces developed entirely in-house each year, solidifying its position not only as a jeweler but also as a master watchmaker. The momentum of its creations shows no signs of slowing. New complex watches were also revealed at "WATCHES & WONDERS 2015" held in Hong Kong from September 30 to October 3, 2015.

Evoking Mysterious Time
No gears or transmission mechanisms are visible. As if by magic, the hour and minute hands float in space, moving to display the time. The "Mystery Clock," developed in 1912 in collaboration with the genius watchmaker Maurice Couet, is one of Cartier's masterpieces that shines brilliantly in watchmaking history. The "Rotonde de Cartier Mystery Watch," unveiled in 2013, realized this mysterious mechanism in a wristwatch using the latest watchmaking technology. This model features Cartier's exquisite mechanism housed in the first-ever palladium case for the "Clé de Cartier" collection.
This mysterious time display is achieved through a four-layered transparent disc, with the display mechanism occupying more than half the area of the movement. This means the escapement, barrel, and gear train are cleverly integrated into the remaining space. Furthermore, this model offers a new appeal: by skeletonizing the dial, a part of the mysterious mechanism, previously hidden in the "Rotonde de Cartier," can now be admired from the front.

Cartier's Artistic Rare Pieces (2)
Clé de Cartier Tourbillon
The "Clé de Cartier" collection, presented in January 2015 at S.I.H.H. (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, commonly known as the Geneva Watch Show), was the first entirely new collection since the "Ballon Bleu de Cartier" in 2007. Two new complex timepieces have now been added to this new collection. One of them is the "Clé de Cartier Flying Tourbillon."
The flying tourbillon mechanism at 6 o'clock, featuring a cage shaped like Cartier's "C," rotates at a speed of one revolution per minute, and within it...
...the escapement's balance spring and balance wheel, the heart of the timekeeping mechanism, are designed to minimize the effects of gravity by relativizing them. Moreover, since there is no bridge to fix the cage, the entire mechanism appears to be floating. This model, equipped with this mechanism that represents the Maison's complex watches, a crystallization of Cartier's technology and aesthetics, possesses a captivating charm that draws you in the more you gaze at it. The 35mm case size also fits both men and women.
