Seeking Participants: A Special Stargazing Tour Through Japan's Deepest V-Shaped Gorge on the Kurobe Gorge Railway

For five days—September 22 (Fri), 23 (Sat/Holiday), 24 (Sun), 30 (Sat), and October 1 (Sun)—the Kurobe Gorge Railway in Toyama Prefecture will operate a special stargazing tour called "Hoshizora Torokko" (Starlight Trolley).

In conjunction with this, they are seeking participants, with a capacity of 60 people per day, for a total of 300 participants.

The "Hoshizora Torokko" tour involves riding the Kurobe Gorge Torokko train from the starting station, Unazuki, deep into Japan's deepest V-shaped gorge. The destination is the observation deck at Keyakidaira, 20.1 km away, reached after a 1 hour and 20 minute journey, where participants will observe the night sky.

A stargazing expert will accompany the tour, providing detailed explanations of the night sky.

At an altitude of 600 meters, Keyakidaira is an ideal location for stargazing. The tour offers a spectacular view of the Milky Way, shining like a reflection of the Kurobe Gorge, centered around the Summer Triangle constellations—Cygnus, Lyra, and Aquila—along with the chance to see shooting stars streaking across the night sky.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and will close once capacity is reached, so don't miss this opportunity.
