Spain's Academy Awards "Goya Awards" Winner of a Record 5 Titles! "A Perfect Day" Opens July 1 (Sat)

The acclaimed film "A Perfect Day," winner of a record five Goya Awards—Spain's Academy Awards—will open in theaters nationwide on Saturday, July 1, at Human Trust Cinema Yurakucho, YEBISU GARDEN CINEMA, and other locations.

At the 30th Goya Awards, the film garnered a total of five awards, including Best Film, Best Director for Isabel Coixet, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Original Screenplay, surpassing other nominees. It has also received numerous accolades from other prestigious film festivals, such as the 63rd San Sebastián International Film Festival and the 8th Gaudí Awards.

From the rich landscape of Spanish cinema, which has gifted the world with masterpieces like "All About My Mother" and "The Skin I Live In," a new gem has emerged.

Starring Ricardo Darín, one of Argentina's most celebrated actors, known for his roles in "The Secret in Their Eyes" (which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film) and "Wild Tales."

In this film, Darín portrays Julián, a man spending his final days with his beloved dog, Truman.

Also featured is Javier Cámara from Spain, acclaimed for his performances in "Talk to Her" (winner of the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film) and "The Skin I Live In."

Cámara plays Tomás, Julián's close friend, who stays by his side, navigating the challenges of Julián's impending death.

The performance and presence of Truman, Julián's loyal dog, are also not to be missed.

Four special days searching for "happiness" with two men and one dog.

● Story
Julián (Ricardo Darín) is a successful actor in Spain, living with his dog, Truman.

Meanwhile, Tomás (Javier Cámara) teaches at a Canadian university and lives with his family, leading separate lives.

Years pass, and one day, Tomás suddenly appears before Julián.

He had heard from Julián's cousin, Paula (Dolores Fonzi), that Julián was not well.

Julián had already stopped treatment and begun to put his affairs in order. He dislikes being lectured and initially tries to send Tomás away, but Tomás is undeterred and decides to stay for four days.

The two gradually return to their old, unreserved relationship, spending Julián's remaining time finding a new home for his dog, Truman, among other things.

These were also the final days they could spend together.

What will Julián's perfect choice for happiness be?
