Ishigaki's New Modern Resort

Fusaki Beach Resort Hotel & Villas (Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture) will commence operations of its "Wellness Center (Eight Stars Village)" on Monday, April 27, 2020.

This center is the fourth phase of a large-scale renovation project underway since 2018, themed "Ishigaki Modern Resort." It is a complex facility that includes public baths, an indoor pool, a spa, a relaxation lounge, a restaurant, banquet halls, and shops.

The public baths feature open-air baths where you can feel the tropical breeze, as well as saunas. The indoor pool, open year-round, includes a water slide and shallow areas (30cm and 60cm deep) for children. The spa's treatment rooms, set against the backdrop of the subtropical greenery spread across the grounds, offer an area to enjoy a hotel stay with a "wellness" theme.

The new restaurant, "Ryukyu Shinchi," offers "Ryukyu Chinese" cuisine, a creative fusion inspired by four distinct culinary backgrounds: Chinese cuisine, one of the world's three great cuisines born from 4,000 years of history; Peranakan cuisine from Southeast Asia, which evolved through maritime trade; Satsuma cuisine from the land of the rising sun; and Ryukyu cuisine, which flourished as a diplomatic and hospitality culture bridging continental influences.

Fusaki Beach Resort offers a blend of Yaeyama island culture and modern resort living, with its 1km natural beach, garden villas in traditional Ryukyuan red-tiled cottages, the popular outdoor pool area "Aqua Garden" opened in the first renovation phase, the "Central Village" with an all-day dining restaurant and lounge & bar, and the "North Wing" guest rooms with patios or garden views opened last summer. Glass-bottom boat tours are also being added to the activities. We invite you to experience it for yourself.

■ Activities
In addition to marine activities such as SUP, flyboarding, snorkeling, tubing, clear kayaking, dragon boating, and U-tubing, glass-bottom boat tours are also planned. The "Morning Yoga" program, held year-round on the 1km natural beach, is also a popular offering.

In conjunction with the expansion plan leading up to summer 2020, the hotel was rebranded and reopened in December 2018.
