Roppongi Art Night 2022 full program announced! Approximately 100 programs presented by about 70 artists, including contemporary artist Takashi Murakami.
Roppongi Art Night 2022, with contemporary artist Takashi Murakami—a leading figure in Japan—as its main program artist, will be held over three days from Saturday, September 17 to Monday, September 19 (public holiday), under the theme "Magical Adventure: Explore the Wonders of Art in This City!"
The program for Roppongi Art Night 2022, which will unfold throughout the streets of Roppongi, has now been finalized.
The event will span the entire Roppongi area, encompassing cultural facilities such as museums, large commercial complexes, and shopping streets. Approximately 100 diverse programs, including painting, installations, music, performances, film, and talks, will be presented by around 70 participating artists.
In addition to artworks on display, the event will carry forward the programs originally planned for Roppongi Art Night 2020 (which was canceled) and the Roppongi Art Night Spin-off Project. By incorporating digital elements, it aims to offer even richer content and communicate the expanding possibilities of art within society.

A Grand Gathering of Doraemon: Featuring Doraemon by Takashi Murakami and Doraemon by 12 Artists Curated by Murakami!
At Roppongi Art Night 2022, you can enjoy not only Takashi Murakami as the main program artist but also his role as a producer.
Artists curated by Murakami have also taken on Doraemon, creating new works that will be exhibited at four locations: Roppongi Hills Arena, Tokyo Midtown, The National Art Center, Tokyo, and Lapilos Roppongi, all under Murakami's production. Anticipation is high to see how contemporary artists, including Murakami himself, will collaborate with this legendary icon.
