Uber Taxi Overview

Uber Taxi is a service that partners with taxi companies across Japan to dispatch taxis through the Uber app. It efficiently matches passengers with the nearest available taxi, providing convenient and reliable taxi dispatch. For international visitors, it allows them to use the familiar app without needing to download a new one. Uber Taxi began its trial service on Awaji Island in July 2018, with full-scale partnerships with taxi companies starting in Nagoya in September 2018. The service launched in Tokyo in July 2020 and is currently available in the following 12 areas nationwide.
