Eggcellent: Championing a New Morning Culture

With a concept of "championing morning culture," Eggcellent opened its first store in Roppongi Hills and has since promoted various forms of morning activities. To help our customers enjoy their mornings even more, we are now offering a "Morning Veggies" menu for a limited time.

"Morning Veggies" refers to the New York-based breakfast trend focusing on vegetables, which has recently become a hot topic on social media and is gaining attention as a new breakfast trend. This style is gradually spreading in Japan, with the number of posts tagged "#朝ベジ" (Morning Veggies) increasing on Instagram (5,687 posts as of October 26, 2017).

At the Eggcellent Roppongi Hills store, we will offer two "Morning Veggies" menu items from Wednesday, November 1, to Wednesday, January 10: the "Red Morning Veggies Toast" packed with vegetables, and the "Mushroom-Filled Scramble Egg Morning Veggies Toast" featuring fresh eggs and seasonal mushrooms. We hope our customers will enjoy these "Morning Veggies" dishes.

Through this "Morning Veggies" menu offering, we aim to further strengthen our core concept of "championing morning culture."

Our original romesco paste is made from slowly roasted peppers, onions, and tomatoes, packed with vegetable nutrients. It's topped with marinated roasted eggplant and zucchini.

Mushroom-Filled Scramble Egg Morning Veggies Toast

Scrambled eggs made with organic eggs are mixed with mushrooms, and then generously topped with sautéed mushrooms that enhance their flavor. Enjoy it with our super green pesto made from kale.

"Morning Veggies" refers to a breakfast centered around vegetables. This breakfast style and hashtag has gained popularity in overseas trendsetting cities like New York, and is now becoming a topic of conversation in Japan. Eating vegetables for breakfast can provide a "second meal effect," where the dietary fiber in vegetables moderates sugar absorption in the small intestine, helping to prevent sharp blood sugar spikes between breakfast and lunch, which can contribute to preventing obesity.
