The hotel will feature takeout menus using ingredients from Tochigi Prefecture, as well as activities that allow guests to enjoy the magnificent nature of Nikko while avoiding the "three Cs" (crowded spaces, close-contact settings, and confined or enclosed spaces).

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. had previously postponed the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko due to the global spread of novel coronavirus and the resulting domestic and international situation. The opening date has now been set for Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
At The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko, the health and safety of guests and employees are the top priority. To ensure a comfortable and secure stay, comprehensive measures against novel coronavirus infection will be implemented, including in-room check-ins and ample space between tables in restaurants.
Furthermore, to allow guests to enjoy The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko while avoiding the "three Cs," the hotel will offer takeout menus, innovative breakfast service options, and encourage the use of in-room dining.
