LD&K, the creators of "Yoru Cafe," Launch Apparel Brand "Shibuya Is My Town"
“Shibuya Is My Town,” a new “night-closing” brand, launches on Friday, October 20th, with the bold concept of “Living the Shibuya night.”
The brand is spearheaded by LD&K, the company behind “Yoru Cafe,” which established the “night cafe” culture in Shibuya, as well as Shibuya’s craft beer “Shibuya Beer,” and the urban live circuit event “TOKYO CALLING” and various rock festivals.
Under the brand policy “For brands that endure without being trendy,” they are producing items that are not prohibitively expensive even in small batches, using an “online SPA” method to differentiate themselves from existing mass-produced apparel.
Their policy is to not sell in physical stores and to refrain from sales, offering products on a sell-out basis for each title.
By selling out without returns, they can release limited quantities of products at minimal cost.
Information about each item's release date will be shared via social media and crowdfunding.
Samples can be tried on at “Udagawa Cafe.”
The first collection features 7-sleeve polo shirts and open-collar shirts.
Primarily in black, the items are adorned with embroidery and illustrations, evoking the mood of night streets and embodying the brand's spirit.
To commemorate the website opening on Friday, October 20th, a fitting and order event for the first collection will be held on the same day on the second floor of “Udagawa Cafe.”
On the same day, there will also be a 15th-anniversary exhibition for “Cockney Graphics,” the design company founded by Naoto Mizuno, the designer of Shibuya Is My Town.
