Onitsuka Tiger × ANDREA POMPILIO Autumn/Winter 2017 Collection

Asics Japan has launched the Onitsuka Tiger × ANDREA POMPILIO Autumn/Winter 2017 Collection under the "Onitsuka Tiger" brand this month.

The concept behind this collection is "The New Street Preppy."

As a fresh approach to fashion, the apparel is inspired by streetwear, proposing novel styling that harmonizes modern and classic elements. This includes oversized, preppy sweaters and college cardigans paired with classic button-down shirts and Chesterfield coats, all combined with washed denim.

The shoes, while incorporating traditional details, are based on nostalgic designs and have been updated for contemporary tastes under the supervision of Andrea Pompilio.

The MNR AP, designed with the "Himalayan" mountain shoes released in the 1970s as a base and fused with the nuances of classic men's shoes, features a rubber-like material on the upper and a slim silhouette despite its substantial sole with large treads.

The OK BASKETBALL RB is based on the first Onitsuka Tiger basketball shoe created in 1950, and features nylon material and stitching inspired by snow boots.

It is available in three colors: black, white, and pea coat.

And the CALIFORNIA 78 AP is an updated version of the "CALIFORNIA 78," which is based on the "CALIFORNIA" shoe that fueled the jogging boom of the 1970s and 1980s.

The upper is a seamless type using a rubber-like synthetic material, giving it a clean impression.

The tongue features a clear printed logo, with a subtle detail where the pattern appears depending on the angle of light.

The Onitsuka Tiger × ANDREA POMPILIO Autumn/Winter 2017 Collection offers a sophisticated take on contemporary style, honoring the history of Onitsuka Tiger.
