FLEXLUX: A new reclining brand from Denmark makes its Japan debut!
IDC Otsuka Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kumiko Otsuka; hereinafter "IDC Otsuka"), a comprehensive interior retailer, has launched sales of the "FLEXLUX" reclining brand from Denmark, making its Japan debut, at major IDC Otsuka stores (displaying stores: Ariake/Shinjuku/Ginza Main Store/Yokohama Minatomirai/Minamifunabashi/Tachikawa/Maruhiro Iruma/Nagoya Sakae/Osaka Nanko/Kobe/Fukuoka) and its official online shop.
FLEXLUX was announced in 2017 by THECA, a Danish company established in 2005, as a highly designed reclining chair brand featuring high performance, incorporating trendy colors into its shell and upholstery. Currently, many reclining chairs on the market have standard designs and colors, often perceived as being for men.
While possessing unique and superior functionality, FLEXLUX offers a new style of reclining chair by incorporating aesthetically pleasing designs and trendy colors to support women's relaxation. For this launch, we have selected shell-type designs with a Nordic form as chairs for women to relax in various life scenes such as reading, napping, and resting. We have begun displaying and selling three models with distinct upholstery designs and colors: "ELEGANT," "QUILT," and "CHESTER."
To commemorate the launch of FLEXLUX, we are also offering a limited first edition of 12 "CHESTER" chairs with coral pink upholstery, designed to support feminine interior coordination.
Furthermore, FLEXLUX also offers custom orders (made-to-order production). Customers can choose from 15 designs in two styles. The shell can be specified in fabric matching the upholstery, seven types of synthetic resin, or five types of wood. The legs are available in aluminum in polished, black, or white finishes, with wooden options also available (available specifications vary by design). The upholstery offers a rich variety of 65 fabric and 47 leather options, totaling 112 choices, allowing customers to select according to their preferences and interior style.

Assured Quality Certified by Germany's Strict "Golden M" Standard
THECA holds the "Golden M" certification from the German Quality Assurance Association for Furniture (Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel - DGM). DGM is a group comprising 71 members and 40 support members from furniture manufacturers, subcontractors, research institutes, certification bodies, and furniture assembly companies. The "Golden M" is a quality certification awarded to suppliers who pass a series of tests, including factory audits by representatives of the German TÜV (a certification body for technical, safety, and certification services). THECA passed all tests in December 2016 and was officially awarded at the IMM Cologne fair in 2017. Currently, THECA is the only Danish supplier to hold this certification.
