"Nippon Tenaraido" launches a new membership service allowing consumers to visit the producers of their everyday goods.

Where are the things we use and consume made, by whom, with what passion, and using what techniques?
Are we, as consumers, not surrounded by many things, passively consuming them without knowing their stories?

To acquire something precious is to acquire the processes and stories behind it. This, in turn, leads to cherishing and continuing to use that item.

Nippon Tenaraido is being reborn as an activity akin to a cooperative, allowing us consumers to learn the stories behind our tools and attain a "heartfelt life."
Anyone who resonates with our mission—individuals, companies, and all people—can participate in Tenaraido. Support members pay a monthly fee (¥899/month), and Tenaraido will be operated by these membership fees going forward. New support members will participate from the planning stages and engage in activities such as member-exclusive workshops and studio tours with producers. (Pre-registration begins early November 2018.)

Why not become a support member and enjoy all that Tenaraido has to offer?

Life Becomes More Joyful When Consumers "Know"

Operated by G.K. Tsuzuku (Tsuzuku LLC), this initiative gathers small "lessons" for continuing a rich life—experiencing, learning, and understanding Japanese craftsmanship.

[Support Member Overview]
● Fee: ¥899 per month (tax included)
● Service Start: January 1, 2019
● Pre-launch Campaign: "Early Bird Pre-registration Discount" now available. Register by November 30th and receive a permanent monthly fee of ¥699 (tax included)!

[Member Benefits]
1. Participate in "Tenarai" events nationwide at member-exclusive prices
Participate in workshops held at studios across Japan, and visiting artisan workshops in urban areas, at special member prices. These experiences, engaging the five senses, offer a chance to deeply understand the stories behind the tools.

2. Invitation to exclusive producer "Talk Sessions"
To deepen your affection for the items you use daily, you'll be invited to hear directly from the producers. These sessions cover everything from practical tips on daily care to the artisans' unique philosophies, connecting their stories to your everyday life.

3. Invitation to exclusive studio monitor tours
As a representative consumer, you can tour studios nationwide alongside our staff. Witness firsthand the meticulous craftsmanship and efficient production processes that create reliable products—a glimpse into the world of Japanese manufacturing that is rarely accessible.

4. Participation in various meetings related to Tenaraido's planning
Nippon Tenaraido support members are individuals who explore everyday goods from a consumer's perspective. Rather than Nippon Tenaraido unilaterally planning and providing experiences, it will be operated in a participatory manner, with support members bringing their own ideas, such as "I want to learn about this kind of tool" or "I'd like to try this kind of workshop."

5. Unlimited tea at Nippon Tenaraido's Kagurazaka shop, "Himitsu no Shouten"
At "Himitsu no Shouten," our shop scheduled to open in Kagurazaka, Tokyo, present your membership card for complimentary service with Japan's finest teas.

New experiences are always exciting.

● "The Art of the Cutting Board"
Many consumers likely admire wooden cutting boards but hesitate, perhaps finding them difficult to care for or handle.
Perhaps the easiest way to overcome this perceived hurdle is to make your own cutting board by hand, making it more approachable.
The beloved cutting boards we know today began with a single board crafted for just one user.
By hearing the stories of such creators, you can develop a lasting attachment to the cutting board you make with your own hands. Such an experience awaits.

□ The following plans are scheduled:
A workshop where you'll shave and finish a semi-finished cutting board under the guidance of a Gifu-based wood artisan.
A talk session with the artisan about cutting board care and their creative philosophy.
A tour to visit the artisan's studio in Gifu.

<What is Nippon Tenaraido?>
Nippon Tenaraido is an activity akin to a cooperative, allowing us consumers to learn the stories behind our tools and attain a "heartfelt life."

Since opening as a select shop to experience Japanese craftsmanship in February 2013, we have partnered with Edo-era dyers and Niigata miso producers, holding over 200 workshops that allow participants to experience authentic craftsmanship.
In January 2019, we will launch a support member system, beginning our activities as a collective organization to provide opportunities for consumers to learn about the tools they use in their daily lives, driven by their own interests, and to visit workshops and studios to foster closer relationships with producers.
