The wena wrist series is a product of the wena project, born from Sony's Seed Acceleration Program. The wena project aims to create products that can be cherished and used for a long time, like wallets or fountain pens, guided by the vision of "wear electronics naturally"—seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology into daily life.
The wena project has now announced new products.
The "wena wrist pro" is a model that pursues the texture and luxury of a wristwatch while newly incorporating an organic EL display, making notification and activity log functions more convenient. By reducing the band width and thickness compared to previous models, it achieves approximately a 25% reduction in volume*. Furthermore, the water resistance has been improved to 5 atmospheres**. The "wena wrist active" is a model equipped with GPS and an optical heart rate sensor***, suitable for running. Additionally, this product can be used as a smart band by removing the head unit during sleep or running, thanks to its uniquely designed end pieces. By attaching or swapping the head unit according to the scene, it can also be used in business or formal settings.

Equipped with an organic EL display and advanced notification functions. In addition to the conventional 7-color LED and vibration, it now features an organic EL display on the band, allowing users to check the sender and title of calls and emails, as well as SNS updates, through smartphone linkage.

Enhanced activity log functions. The "wena wrist active" calculates steps and calories burned using an accelerometer, and also includes GPS and an optical heart rate sensor***. This allows it to measure travel routes, average speed, and heart rate during runs without needing to carry a smartphone. Sleep tracking is also possible. The smart alarm function aids in a comfortable awakening by adjusting the alarm to your sleep state. With 3 atmospheres of water resistance**, it can withstand sudden rain during runs.

As head units to be paired with the band units like "wena wrist pro" and "wena wrist active," or the previous wena wrist models, three types of the first mechanical model in the wena wrist series, "wena wrist Mechanical head," and two models (four variations) of the first solar-powered "wena wrist Solar head" are available. The luxurious mechanical type, a traditional style of wristwatch, is designed for "wena wrist pro," while the sporty-imaged solar type is designed for "wena wrist active."
Luxurious Mechanical Model: "wena wrist Mechanical head"
This is the first model in the wena wrist series to feature a high-performance mechanical movement. The front crystal is made of spherical sapphire glass, resistant to impact and scratches, while the case back features a see-through design allowing a view of the mechanical movement's operation. It uses the high-quality mechanical movement "90S5," with the wena logo on the rotor. By lowering the center of gravity, it achieves a comfortable fit on the wrist. The fusion of classical, high-quality design, the traditional craftsmanship of mechanical watches, and the advanced technology integrated into the wena wrist redefines the wristwatch.
Sporty and Meticulously Crafted Solar Model: "wena wrist Solar head"
This is the first model in the wena wrist series to feature a solar movement, with a continuous operating time of approximately 6 months on a full charge for the head unit alone. Like the "wena wrist pro," it uses spherical sapphire glass on the front crystal, which is resistant to impact and scratches. An anti-reflective coating is applied to ensure high visibility, making it easy to check the time even under strong sunlight. It achieves 5 atmospheres of water resistance**, making it a durable model suitable for activities. The dial features a sunburst finish followed by multiple layers of coating, allowing sunlight to pass through while achieving a luxurious sheen. It is available in two types: chronograph and three-hands.
