Interior Lifestyle 2023 Special Exhibition "Meet Design" to be Held
The special exhibition "Meet Design 2023" at Interior Lifestyle 2023 will be held from Wednesday, June 14th to Friday, June 16th, 2023, at Tokyo Big Sight.
Meet Design is a stage for encounters, designed to foster genuine collaboration on product and service development with "companies" and "individuals" active in diverse fields, ultimately aiming for successful market entry. It seeks to be a space where new chemical reactions emerge by merging each party's expertise, from design to distribution, under a shared mission.
For its second iteration, Meet Design features 28 companies and 30 brands. The venue design is once again handled by MUTE Kenji Ito and Nihon Copack Co., Ltd. This year also marks the launch of a new initiative to match designers and manufacturers from exhibiting brands for collaborative development projects.
On Thursday, June 15th, the related talk event "LIFESTYLE SALON" will be held under the theme "Thinking and Exchange on Product Design." It will feature a talk session exploring the commercialization of product design with Sosuke Nakabo of Sosuke Nakabo Design Office, Gen Suzuki of GEN SUZUKI STUDIO, Takeshi Matsuzawa, Representative Director and Design Editor of E&Y Inc., and Nobukuni Tsuboi, Representative Director of 100percent Inc. Following this, presentations of Meet Design collaborative projects will take place.

The venue design for Meet Design is once again a collaboration between MUTE Kenji Ito and Nihon Copack Co., Ltd., specialists in various display tools. Their joint effort results in booths that, while simple, exude presence, allowing the unique characteristics of each brand to blend seamlessly within the overarching concept of Meet Design.
LIFESTYLE SALON: "Thinking and Exchange on Product Design"
Months have passed since the collaborative projects between Meet Design participating designers and material manufacturers began. Welcoming designers and editors with extensive international experience working at the forefront globally, the first half will feature a talk session examining the commercialization of product design from various perspectives through broadened horizons, knowledge, and experience. The latter half will present Meet Design collaborative projects, facilitate exchanges of opinions based on real-world examples, and foster the sharing of ideas.
