A Cut Rivaling High-End Knives: Kamaasa Shoten Original "Kamaasa Steak Knife" Now Available
Kamaasa Shoten, a purveyor of kitchenware in Asakusa Kappabashi founded in 1908, has launched its original product, the "Kamaasa Steak Knife."
A Collaboration With Hiro Knives, Captivating Knife Aficionados
The sharpness of a table knife can influence the taste of food, so chefs who know the real deal pay meticulous attention when choosing one.
The "Kamaasa Steak Knife" was born from a joint development between Kamaasa Shoten and Hiro Knives, a name recognized globally within Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, one of Japan's leading cutlery production areas.
The material used is "VG10 (stainless steel)," a high-grade steel typically used for knives, and skilled artisans meticulously sharpen the blade to achieve exceptional sharpness.
It cuts smoothly with a gentle back-and-forth motion, minimizing damage to the meat's cells and preventing the loss of flavorful juices, thus preserving the umami.
Beyond its sharpness, the design is also exquisite, with a simple form and a beautiful Damascus pattern.
Its curved and elegant appearance will elegantly adorn any dining table.
Furthermore, the product is meticulously crafted in Gifu, even using Mino washi paper, which carries over 1,300 years of tradition, to wrap the knife.
Cutlery holds the meaning of "carving out a good life."
It is perfect not only for personal use but also as a gift for special occasions such as a new beginning or an anniversary.
